Lookin’ After Ma

Queen Bee
I’ve got a new sketchbook, something I haven’t had for a while…not that I haven’t sketched anything due to a lack of book, but having a dedicated book for it sort of gives the whole thing a regularity, like keeping a diary.
Sketching also gives you that awesome freedom to make mistakes…something which I do frequently.
Have a big fat bee.

Wish Hounds mark two. ( Or, ‘You can’t argue with the dude in the big black frock’)

I thought it’d be cool to put together a step-by-step series of pictures showing how this was done…For my own benefit as much as anything, but still, I figured someone out there might get a kick out of it.

After the pencil drawing was finished ’twas scanned and colour tweaked in Photoshop. I’m not a big fan of straight black and white images on a back lit monitor, it just looks a bit harsh.
Finally, my newly silvered bionic hand. This is why I like ink, I can’t make as much mess.

The Dance

I thought I’d get the old pencils out for a bit of a spin, makes a change from ink. Graphitey atmosphere is never a bad thing I reckon.
Happy fruit

Filled with squishy joy he is, honest.
The Geacock and the Poat.

For Fishy, Katy and Samli, who say the strangest things.
Actual Doodles

For a site called Doodle Beasts, there are surprisingly few doodled beasts here. I might have to fix that in the future.
Drawing Day!…
The legend of the man faced man.

Man face man is made entirely out of man face. Even the bits you can’t see are face shaped and manly. Also, he’s green.
This Too Shall Pass…

…Or at least we hope it will. I was having a Dali Day.
Biro on paper, always fun.
